To my friends in Bali

A huge shout out to all of my friends from Australia and New Zealand! I’ve got nothing but respect for the time, effort and energy it takes to accomplish what you’ve done to get  here. I’m not talking business here on this site but wanted to give you a little extra content on the workouts we are doing.

If you want to talk business, or you’ve got questions that I can help with, just stop me and ask. I’m happy to talk and it’s kinda what I’m here for.

I’m using a spri band for these beach workouts. I think they are great tools for getting resistance training in when you don’t have access to a gym, weights, etc. I’ll be demo-ing a number of exercises using the band, but if you want more information on other options, visit www.spri.com/pages/downloadable-guides. They show a wider variety than I can in 4 workouts, and just as importantly show the SAFE way to use them.

For those of you who engage in regular exercise, good on you! And I hope you find value in our morning beach sessions. Maybe something you can add to your routine or share with your team or friends. For those who don’t currently engage in regular activity, this might be the start of something. A metaphorical “toe in the water” of fitness.

You’ve all heard that being fit helps in representing a brand that’s all about  wellness. Being a “Product of the Product”. And I think it’s very true. But I’m not about to tell you about how to succeed in this business. You’re already succeeding, or you wouldn’t be here.

But honestly, my message on fitness is this;  it’s all about what you want.

What do you want, and what are you willing to do to get it? You don’t have to want fitness. I had a friend named Gene who used to love to show me whatever super-sized, deep-fried, smothered and covered dish he was indulging in. If that’s you, enjoy it. I would not presume to take that from you.

My diet isn’t perfect. I like beer, wine, ribs and cheesecake from a place called Juniors in Brooklyn, New York, among other things. But I also like living an active lifestyle. So 80% of the time I watch my diet and I exercise regularly. I don’t always want to. There are days I would really rather do just about anything else.

What do you want, and what are you willing to do to get it.

So start with that decision. Then find activities that you like. Find healthier choices in foods. Keep a food diary for a while. That really helps me. Find friends or a team that thinks like you do. Hold each other accountable. If I can help, I’d love to. I’ve been a group fitness instructor for more than 20 years, at many different health clubs and other crazy locations. And believe me, I don’t do it for the money. If I can help I will.

Now, stop reading. You’re in Bali! Go out and do something! Swim, lay out, bike ride, horseback ride, or just sit in the shade with your favorite adult beverage. You’ve earned it. Enjoy your success and make plans for more of the same. I’ll see you out & about.

Cheers!

Bob
